The ferry can transport 390 passengers and 125 cars and is expected to save 15 % fuel after the conversion. Integrating a battery also reduces maintenance costs and greenhouse gas emissions - especially the methane slip.

Fannefjord has a 410kWh energy storage system (ESS) from Corvus. The battery is integrated with the existing Siemens power systems and powered by two LNG generators.
