Godfrey Wang – Global Project Director – AYK Energy
Godfrey Wang, Global Project Director of AYK Energy, based in Rotterdam the Netherlands. Cum Laude M.Sc. of Naval Architecture, Hydrodynamics and Mechanical Engineering.
Over 7 years’ experience in maritime renewable energy through shipyards and marine battery maker. Currently responsible through the whole commercial and project execution with focus on clients.
Wook Her – R&D Engineer – Hanwha Aerospace
Wook Her joined Hanwha Aerospace in 2021 and is an experienced Research and Development Engineer with a demonstrated history of working in the battery industry. Currently, he is developing different types of ESS for vessels. Prior to joining Hanwha Aerospace, Wook Her specialized in developing car battery modules and he has experience in laminating, stacking, folding and module equipment for pouch cells.
Toong Yew Keong - Principal Approval Engineer / Surveyor – DNV
Johnny Toong is an Electrical engineer and has been an active member of the Singapore Oil and Gas industry for 20 years. He started his career in Terasaki Electric Co. Far East, gaining valuable experience working with a diverse range of systems such as switchboards, power management systems,
alarm monitoring systems, and the design and commissioning of generators and propulsion engines.
In 2007, Johnny joined DNV and since then has been playing a key role in improving safety in the maritime industry. Out of his 16 years at DNV, he spent seven years in South Korea working with major shipyards handling all the major ship types.
Johnny specialized in overseeing both novice and complex vessel design projects, approving electrical and instrumentation installations on ships and offshore units, and conducting site surveys to ensure compliance and safety of these installations. One of his standout achievements is his specialization in dynamic positioning, particularly in closed bus tie design. He has been recognized as a specialist in this field and entrusted with the crucial responsibility of approving and conducting surveys for these dynamic positioning installations.
Chih Wei Liu - Manager Technology - American Bureau of Shipping
Mr. Lui Chih Wei is a Senior Managing Principal Engineer with ABS and leads the electrical engineering team in Singapore. Mr. Lui has been with ABS for 16 years working in various roles in Engineering plan review and Technology in Singapore and Dubai. He has extensive experience in maritime regulations and electrical and automation systems.
He is a subject matter expert on smart and autonomous shipping and is actively involved in global efforts on this topic.
He represents ABS on the IACS (International Association of Classification Societies) Expert Group on MASS (Maritime Autonomous Surface Ships). He was the lead author of the ABS Requirements for Autonomous and Remote Control Functions and the Advisory on Autonomous Functionality. Prior to joining ABS, he worked in the new construction department of a Singapore shipyard. Mr. Lui graduated from the Nanyang Technological University, Singapore with a Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering (Hons)
George Lee – CEO - Sea Forrest Technologies
A maritime and offshore industry veteran with two decades of experience, George began his career with a Keppel scholarship to read Mechanical and Production Engineering degree at the Nanyang Technological University and subsequently a Master of Science in Industrial and System Engineering from the National University of Singapore. At Keppel FELS, he excelled as a project engineer, later assuming pivotal roles as project director, CTO, and marketing director at Yantai Raffles Offshore Ltd/CIMC, overseeing 700 engineers, 16 oil rig construction projects and driving innovation.
In 2011, George founded Sea Forrest, transforming it from an oil rig construction project management company to a global green technology and energy solutions provider. Under his leadership, Sea Forrest successfully delivered innovative sustainable solutions to clients worldwide, showcasing his unwavering passion and expertise. George was presented the recognition as one of the Top 10 CEOs in Singapore - 2023, by CEO Insights Asia.
Manoraaju Krishnasamy – Senior Project Engineer – ABB
Manoraaju Krishnasamy is a Senior Project Engineer at ABB Marine and Ports Singapore and is currently leading projects with battery systems involving DC distribution solutions. Prior to working at ABB, he worked at American Bureau of Shipping (ABS) and Sembawang Shipyard.
He has a keen interest in improving efficiency without compromising operational reliability and has over 10 years of experience within the maritime industry; from shipbuilding to system design. Manoraaju has a Master's Degree in Cyber Security from Singapore University of Technology & Design (SUTD).
Kolin Low - Regional Director - UL Standards & Engagement (ULSE)
Mr Kolin Low is the Regional Director of UL Standards & Engagement (ULSE), a global not-for-profit standards development organization established since 1894 with a mission of creating a safer world. He manages a team that has direct responsibility for the regions of ASEAN, Japan, Korea, Australasia and Middle East.
Previously, Kolin Low was the Regional Manager for International Organization for Standardization (ISO).
In this role, he setup the ISO Regional Engagement Initiative (REI) office in Singapore for the Asia Pacific region, developed and executed the ISO regional engagement plan for the region.
Prior to joining ISO, Mr Low worked for Enterprise Singapore (formerly known as SPRING Singapore) under different roles including International Policy for Standards and Quality, Accreditation and Metrology. Kolin Low earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering (Electronics) from Nanyang Technological University in Singapore.
