MBF Presentation at The International WorkBoat Show

The Maritime Battery Forum will be present at the International Work Boat Show in New Orleans from the 12th to the 14th of November! On Wednesday 13 November, MBF director, Syb Ten Cate Hoedemaker will be presenting on "Safe handling of lithium-ion battery fires on board ships" at the WorkBoat show.

The number of fully battery powered and battery-hybrid ships is increasing and with this comes the need for a better understanding of how to respond to fires involving batteries on board these ships.

This presentation contains three parts:

  • The current status of battery powered ships

  • Defining a firefighting strategy for battery powered ships

  • How to handle lithium-ion battery fires on board ships - lessons learned from incidents
