Enova launches new support offer “Charging facilities for vessels”
The program is aimed at players who want to establish publicly available charging facilities for charging batteries in vessels. The support program is now available for application.
The purpose of the program
Batteries are an important alternative energy carrier in the transition to emission-free maritime transport, and accessible charging infrastructure is a prerequisite for electrification as a zero-emission solution to gain a foothold in the market.
The support scheme will contribute to increased knowledge about charging vessels and make the market more mature by establishing more publicly accessible charging facilities. The scheme will encourage more people to choose electric vessels and reduce greenhouse gas emissions from maritime transport by increasing the use of batteries for emission-free propulsion.
The support program includes:
Support for investment in publicly available infrastructure for charging vessels in commercial activities or public services. The charging facility may not be established for vessels in public scheduled traffic.
The infrastructure must be established in a Norwegian port or port facility that is publicly accessible.
The charging facility can be established as a multi-purpose facility with charging of vessels as the main purpose.
Maximum support rate up to 60 percent of approved investment costs
Competition for funding, where projects are ranked according to the amount of power (kW) made available per krona of funding. Future-oriented design and a high customer base may result in a better ranking in the competition.
Two to three application rounds per year for a period of 2-3 years, first application deadline March 7, 2025
