A strong impact on making this happen was the installation of a 1.5 MWh battery system from #Freudenberg e-Power Systems which is characterized by a high cycle stability.

π Her batteries provide the 2 MW of propulsion power required for fully electric maneuvering in harbor. This makes the Silver Nova emission-neutral in port!
π The batteries enable the main drive to operate more efficiently by reacting to rapid load changes through charging and discharging.
π Compared to conventional propulsion systems, the new hybrid battery system leads to a significant increase in energy efficiency. Accordingly, the build of the next vessel at #MeyerWerft in Papenburg for Silversea Cruises is already ongoing.
