Lehmann Marine Joins Maritime Battery Forum to Promote Sustainable Shipping Solutions
Lehmann Marine is a German manufacturer of compact and safe battery systems tailored for the maritime market. It´s energy storage systems, such as the COBRA and CUBE, are DNV compliant battery systems employing safe and sustainable LFP cell technology.
COBRA is an advanced and DNV type approved battery system employing inherently safe lithium iron phosphate (LFP) cell technology and taking the special requirements of maritime operation and classification into account. Any scale of power storage is available by freely configuring modular units in standardised racks of up to 1,000 V DC including efficient water or air-cooling and a battery management system. The COBRA Battery System from Lehmann Marine is type approved by DNV and complies with the European Standard of Technical Requirements for Inland Navigation Vessels (ESTRIN).
The Maritime Battery Forum is a platform for sharing knowledge and best practices in the development, installation, and operation of battery systems for the maritime industry. By bringing together a diverse group of stakeholders, the forum aims to accelerate the adoption of battery technology in the sector and promote a sustainable maritime industry.
As a member of the forum, Lehmann Marine will collaborate with other industry leaders to advance the adoption of battery technology in the maritime sector. This partnership will enable Lehmann Marine to contribute to the development of innovative solutions for sustainable shipping, including electric propulsion and energy storage systems.
“We are proud of our developments during the past years, while an efficient company has developed from the original research and development department COBRA at Becker Marine Systems.” Godehard Gauf, Managing Director at Lehmann Marine, mentions. “Initially developed by Becker Marine Systems, COBRA has from January 1st 2023 been incorporated into Lehmann Marine to continue the successful growth of our battery business.”
