Marine Battery Consulting Joins the Maritime Battery Forum

The Netherlands, 11th March 2025 – Marine Battery Consulting with a focus on lithium batteries and energy storage systems for the marine and maritime industry has joined the Maritime Battery Forum.

With a brand-agnostic approach, Marine Battery Consulting offers a range of expert advisory and consultancy solutions for recreational and professional applications. The company’s vision is to overcome the knowledge, product, and market barriers in the marine battery industry, accelerating the adoption of this technology, with the mission of providing tailored services to the different business and technical challenges faced by owners, stakeholders, or battery manufacturers.

Given their 20 years of experience in marine batteries and onboard systems, Marine Battery Consulting brings deep industry knowledge and a strong track record in delivering successful projects. While operating independently, the company leverages a trusted network of partners to enhance their capabilities, ensuring that every project benefits from top-tier expertise.

Independent, Technical and Business Guidance

Led by Carlos Freire Trigo—electronic engineer, entrepreneur, sailor, and founder of MyVMG Group, Marine Battery Consulting was created as a natural response to the growing need for independent technical and business guidance in an increasingly complex market—under a clear and battery- focused identity—helping shipyards, naval architects, owners, and battery manufacturers navigate the fast-evolving maritime battery landscape.

Steady development has included the creation of an engineering and integration company, the development of a lithium battery manufacturing corporation, and business and technical consulting in projects across high-performance racing yachts, superyachts, and commercial vessels.

Variety of Technical and Business-Oriented Projects

The company has an active involvement in a diverse range of technical and business-oriented projects, working with various clients across the maritime industry. These projects reflect their ongoing commitment to advancing the adoption of innovative energy solutions and supporting the growth of the maritime battery sector. This includes market analysis for a lithium battery manufacturer exploring entry into maritime, technical support for fuel cell companies in developing battery packs and reviewing battery proposals for shipowners and shipyards.

In addition to conducting a feasibility study for a fully electric ferry, managing technical coordination between shipyards, naval architects, and battery manufacturers, and offering external support and commissioning for battery manufacturers. Additionally, Marine Battery Consulting provides guidance on battery certification processes and offers design and manufacturing support for high-performance applications. Through these projects, the company continues to drive innovation and support the growth of sustainable energy solutions in the maritime industry.

Facilitators and Connectors

The Maritime Battery Forum provides valuable access to key trends, technical expertise, and market insights, offering members the opportunity to hear from experienced stakeholders who have played a significant role in shaping the maritime battery industry. As Spain emerges as an important player in maritime battery adoption, being part of this international network offers significant benefits, both in terms of knowledge and strategic positioning.

As the first Spanish member of the Maritime Battery Forum, the Marine Battery Consulting is committed to supporting organizations looking to develop projects or expand their presence in the region. The company’s role as facilitators and connectors aligns with the Forum’s mission to enable growth within the maritime battery sector. Marine Battey Consulting therefore aims to bridge cultural and knowledge gaps, providing local insight to ease collaboration. Additionally, they hope to inspire other Spanish companies to follow suit and join the Forum, further strengthening Spain’s involvement in the global maritime battery ecosystem.

Speaking on the symbiotic partnership that the membership will create, Carlos Freire Trigo, Founder at Marine Battery Consulting says “We’re proud to join the Maritime Battery Forum as its first Spanish member. This membership aligns with our mission to accelerate the adoption of marine battery technologies by providing agnostic, independent, and tailored support for the industry’s technical and strategic challenges. We look forward to collaborating, sharing knowledge, and contributing to the future of maritime electrification”.
