Current Status of Maritime Batteries and Future Outlook - Maritime Battery Forum [2022]

The Maritime Battery Forum has made an analysis of all battery powered vessels in the MBF Ship Register from 1998 until 2022. Different trends in the development of battery powered vessels are identified and discussed. A (conservative) calculation of future battery demand until 2050 is made based on the developments between 2010 and 2022. The key factors to the accelerated adoption of maritime batteries in Norway is discussed.
