Software Engineer - ITK Engineering GmbH

I studied power engineering in Hannover, Germany and worked for my Master thesis at the Department of Marine Technology (NTNU in Trondheim) about Marine Hybrid Electric Power Systems. Since 4 years I am a software engineer at ITK Engineering in Germany and recently in the role of Specialist for Maritime Systems. For the past two years, I have been working intensively on digital energy twins with a focus on ports and their economic, emission-reducing and efficient operation. Fortunately we as ITK got rewarded this year with an innovation award for maritime economic for our virtual intelligent port solution by the Maritime Cluster Northern Germany.

The digital energy twin supports the optimal design of energy storage systems in ports and increases overall efficiency

I would like to present our virtual intelligent port software solution, which can help in the planning phase or a restructuring of the energy system of a port due to more security of investment for the port operator. I will identify cost developments with several scenarios with prices of batteries, renewables and electricity in a 3D Pareto chart, so I can show when energy systems with batteries operate more economically. Moreover I would like to show how battery swapping container can play an efficient role for the port energy system.
