We are excited to announce that Eirill Bachmann Mehammer will give us an update on the topic: shore power!
Short about the topic:
The availability of attractive onshore and recharge power plants is central to achieving the goals of reducing emissions from the maritime industry. Development is underway, but the utilization rate is low. This is partly due to the use of available power and energy is not optimized, and partly due to uncertainty in technical solutions.
The new research project ElMar will investigate how integrated energy systems and new business models can make it attractive to develop, operate and use shore power and charging power plants. Furthermore, ElMar will break down technical barriers by increasing the understanding of how such plants affect the power grid and its components.
By bringing together players from across the value chain, the project will contribute to the electrification of maritime transport in a holistic way, where the needs of different actors are taken care of.
