FiFi4Marine joins the Maritime Battery Forum

We are pleased to announce the newest member of the Maritime Battery Forum, FiFi4Marine. With their expertise related to fire fighting of Lithium-ion batteries on board of ships, they are obviously welcome to share their knowledge with our global network of maritime battery enablers.

About FiFi4Marine

FiFi4Marine (F4M) produces a complete range of ECO fire extinguisher equipment and standalone systems based on a patented compressed air & water/foam mixing process, especially for extinguishing fires caused by Lithium batteries.

This compressed air and liquid mixing process is called CAFS (Compressed Air Foam Systems) F4M uses an unique and patented version of CAFS which results in an ultra-compact dry foam with proven extreme cooling capacity compared to the use of water.

The F4M systems have 24/7 detection and automated extinguishing system which selects the battery-zone in thermal event and is completed by a unique 3 hours after cooling procedure.

The F4M ECO CAFS systems are fire-lab tested and approved by DNV-GL, the Danish Maritime Authorities, the Norwegian Maritime Authorities and are accepted by RINA. F4M is active member of the DNV-GL JDP group which is setup with key companies of the International marine Industry to test and define the best fire extinguisher solutions for Lithium battery energy storages in Maritime and land-based applications.

Our focus is on Maritime and Land-based applications. Maritime: We have installed our large systems on 9 Grimaldi ferries sailing in the Mediterranean. These ferries operate fossil-free in the ports in Italy. Also the F4M system has been installed on the electrically powered container ship Alphenaar and on the autonomous container ship Yara Birkeland. We also installed smaller systems on several super yachts.

Landbased: At this moment we are installing our systems for a mining company in the UK, electric instead of diesel-powered engines are also used in mining. The safety of employees is also essential in this sector.

F4M provides fire safety not only for maritime purposes but also for various industries.
