FISACON joins the Maritime Battery Forum

The Netherlands, 14th August 2024 - We are thrilled to announce that Fisacon, German specialists in producing and engineering active boxes and modules for the safe charging and storage of lithium-ion batteries has joined the Maritime Battery Forum.

FISACON BOX

Fisacon was conceptualized in 2017 in the United Kingdom, from the request of the British special forces for the building of lightweight safe box for charging and storing lithium-ion batteries. The company was officially founded in Germany in 2022. Fisacon is the first company with products certified by DMT (TÜV-Nord Group, Lloyd’s and DNV accredited). The company specializes in manufacturing RACLAN SQUARE boxes and Raclan Maritime Battery Safety System - RAMBSS modules especially for the maritime sector. Other business areas include aviation, defense, hotels, automotive, police, hospitals, etc. Fisacon operates their own test environment with thermal cameras and high- tech sensors, where explosion and fire tests are carried out regularly. So far, the company has carried out over 100 thermal runaway tests with lithium-ion batteries between 300 Wh and 12.2 kWh.

Focus on Safety

Specially developed for the maritime sector, Fisacon’s RACLAN SQUARE box will go into series production in September. The box is designed for permanent mobile use on board and works autonomously with an integrated pressure-free extinguishing and cooling system and an exhaust gas management system that filters HF and H2. Fisacon is currently in the final stage of testing and certifying their RAMBSS modules for superyachts. Equipped with a redundant monitoring system and several underwriters, these modules are safe solutions for charging and storing lithium-ion batteries up to 6 kWh on board. Proudly supported by Motorola, the company is also developing another particularly lightweight box for charging and storing radio devices.

Whether it is a pleasure yachting, work boats, or as manufacturers of batteries and ships, Fisacon and the Maritime Battery Forum share a common vision, that a focus on safety is vital for the entire maritime industry. With seven years of experience in the safe charging and storage of lithium-ion batteries, Fisacon underlines the importance of joining our global community to connect with companies that are also active in this field to exchange information about technology, markets, cooperation, etc.
