Lehmann Marine selected as Battery Provider for 2 Fully Electric Ferries

MBF Member, Lehmann Marine is thrilled to have been chosen as battery provider for two solar ferries built by Ampereship, the emission-free division of Stralsund-based Ostseestaal GmbH & Co. KG.

The catamarans with a length of around 26 meters, will be in service on Lake Iseo in northern Italy. Up to 140 people and six bicycles can be transported on board the emission-free vessels.

The Iseo ferries each have two azimuting electric drives with an output of 100 kW each. The electrical energy is provided by our CUBE battery system with a total capacity of around 750 kWh and will be charged by shore power and solar modules while sailing. Delivery of the emission-free ferries is scheduled for the end of this year.
