About the Maritime Battery Forum (MBF):

The Maritime Battery Forum (MBF) is a global network dedicated to accelerating the adoption of safe battery technologies to enhance operational performance and enable emission reduction of the maritime fleet. The MBF brings together industry stakeholders, including shipowners, battery manufacturers, technology providers, and policymakers, to drive innovation, share knowledge, and accelerate the transition to sustainable maritime operations.

Position Overview:

The Operations Manager for MBF APAC will play a pivotal role in driving the growth and success of the Maritime Battery Forum in the Asia Pacific region. This role requires a dynamic and organized professional with an affinity for the maritime industry, new technologies and the energy transition. The Operations Manager will work closely with the MBF global team, regional members, and partners to ensure the effective delivery of MBF’s mission and objectives in the APAC region.

Type of employment:

Initially we are looking for a self-employed contractor in a part-time position.

Starting date:

Aimed starting date will be July 1st , 2025.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Regional Operations Management:

  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of MBF APAC, ensuring alignment with the global MBF strategy.

  • Develop and implement regional plans to support the growth and engagement of MBF members in the APAC region.

2. Stakeholder Engagement:

Build and maintain strong relationships with MBF members, industry stakeholders, and partners in the APAC region.

Identify and recruit new members, including shipowners, battery manufacturers, and technology providers.

Act as the primary point of contact for MBF APAC members, addressing inquiries and providing support.

3. Event Coordination:

  • Support the MBF global team to plan, organize, and execute regional events, including conferences, workshops, and webinars, to promote knowledge sharing and networking.

  • Collaborate with the global MBF team to ensure seamless integration of APAC activities with global initiatives.

4. Knowledge Sharing and Advocacy:

  • Facilitate the exchange of information and best practices among MBF APAC members.

  • Monitor and report on regional trends, developments, and opportunities in maritime battery technology.

  • Represent MBF APAC at industry events, conferences, and meetings to promote the organization’s mission.

5. Marketing and Communications:

  • Work with the global MBF communications team to develop and distribute regional content, including newsletters, reports, and social media updates.

  • Promote MBF APAC activities and achievements to enhance visibility and attract new members.

Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of the maritime industry and battery technology, particularly in the Asia Pacific region.

  • Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

  • Proficiency in English (written and spoken); additional Asian languages are a plus.

  • Confident speaking in public and good presentation skills.

  • Willingness to travel within the APAC region if required.
