Alsym™ Energy joins the Maritime Battery Forum as member

We are ahead of exciting times when it comes to the development of maritime batteries. The newest member of the Maritime Battery Forum is working on enabling and accelerating these exciting times, and therefore the MBF is excited to welcome Alsym™ Energy to our global network of maritime battery enablers.

About Alsym™ Energy

The future of clean energy depends on economically viable, zero-carbon electrification, which requires a new approach to energy storage systems. Today’s lithium and cobalt-based batteries pose considerable risks to humans, animals, and the environment. They rely on inherently flammable and toxic materials that are often mined and processed in ways that threaten the health of workers and local communities, and improper disposal can create substantial environmental impact. Manufacturing finished lithium batteries is also complex and costly, and high battery prices are slowing the pace of electrification around the world.

Alsym™ Energy is working to enable and accelerate the electrification of vehicles, industries, and energy systems around the world. The Alsym team is developing high-performance, low-cost batteries for use in EVs, maritime applications, stationary storage and more—without using lithium or cobalt. Alsym uses non-flammable, non-toxic materials that are readily available worldwide and easily recyclable, helping to reduce total manufacturing costs and eliminate many common sourcing, supply chain, and environmental challenges.
