WHAT HAPPENED IN OCTOBER?

October started with our first Maritime Batteries 101 in Seattle, an introduction course on maritime batteries. In collaboration with Washington Maritime Blue, we met with 9 people in the maritime industry from the Seattle area and discussed the basics of lithium-ion batteries, what makes a maritime battery system, what are the different safety considerations, and how do you size and select a battery for a maritime application. It was great to help with understanding maritime batteries, and to see the discussions regarding the different experiences and points of view of the attendants. Are you interested in a Maritime Batteries 101, let us know!

Then it was time for the first MBF Asia event, our Marine Electrification Seminar in Singapore on October 12th. A total of 75 members and others from the maritime industry in Singapore joined us to talk about different types of batteries and how to use them to electrify different kinds of maritime applications. It was great to meet all these people working on marine electrification and the MBF will definitely be back in Singapore soon!

On October 18 we organized a webinar by Energy Aspects on Maritime Decarbonisation within a Global Context. This very interesting webinar is now available on our new MBF Academy on our website. This is where you will find all the information related to maritime batteries that you need.

October ended in Bergen, at the Maritime hybrid, electric & hydrogen fuel cells conference. A great event organised by Riviera Maritime Media, and we got to show the audience all that is happening in the world related to maritime batteries.

October was a good month, and we will soon announce our first MBF member from Asia, so keep an eye on our website and other channels to find out who it is!
