The addition of Yxney to MBF illustrate how data analytics underpins maritime battery transition
Norwegian based scale-up, Yxney Maritime has high ambitions for how data analytics can contribute to facilitate the transition towards a sustainable energy future. Having a good grasp of data related to battery effect is a valuable piece of the puzzle .
Yxney is building a broad industry network consisting of ship owners, energy companies, technology providers and other stakeholders. At the core of this collaborative network is Yxney´s software Maress. It provides decision makers with an understanding of the footprint from operations, as well as insight needed to comply with the outlined trajectories for decarbonization.
MBF members DOF and Equinor are Maress clients, using the software in day-to-day operations. One of the areas where Maress is used to gain insight is to understand and calculate the actual savings from the installed batteries on the vessels.
CEO, Simen Sanna, explains that they have seen a rapid change in expectations to the performance of battery installations on vessels. Yxney Maritime provide a benchmark of the vessel footprint before and after installation, based on the operational data from the vessel. This gives the vessel owners and other stakeholders insight on how to optimize the effect of the battery.
Yxney Maritime - Norway-based software provider for data-driven decarbonization in maritime operations. Data analytics is at the core of Yxney´s activities, and the Maress cloud-service has been adopted by some of the most advanced vessel owners and energy companies in the world. Maress contributed to customer emission reductions of more than 50,000 tons CO2 in 2020.
